The City of Cheyenne’s process for catering permits is as follows: application to be submitted 5 days prior to the requested event. The application then goes through a series of staff level approvals (i.e. Community Recreation and Events if event is held at a city owned facility or is on city property, Police Department and Clerk). Although we ask for 5 business days, typically these are approved within 2 days or so. We haven’t had any compliance issues with WLD. So far this year we have issued 108 catering permits. The types of events that we issue the permits for include – public events where alcohol is sold (Frontier Days, festivals, etc.) and any type of reception that may be held on city owned property where there is a cash bar.

In Marbleton we have an informal process for catering permits. The LL owner submits the application and it is approved by the Clerk – most are approve same day as long as there are no conflicts or issues. We have not had any compliance issues with WLD. Events that we issue catering permits for are typically Christmas Parties, Music in the Park, and the occasional funeral. We only issue about 5 per year.
